Creativity involves a leap of faith and confidence – faith in the creative process: ultimately art is a journey not directed by product but by the passage of thought, vision, intensive observation, time, and commitment and that is “SHORT film making” A SHORT FILM is a broad category of visual expressions that is based on the attempt.

It has subsequently expanded to include video and digital productions that can be either direct-to-video or made for a television series. As it applies here, works to identify a "film-making practice, a cinematic tradition, and mode of audience reception" Chemozale will be holding its first ever Short Film Making Competition during its 2010 edition.


Rules:

  • The work must be an integral whole in itself, i.e. not an episode of a TV serial or a TV programme or a part of it.
  • The organizer may reject any work without providing any reasons. However, they may be shown in one of the sidebar programmes.
  • The final deadline for accepting submitted applications and films is 20th March 2010.
  • The film must be sent in DV Cam or Mini-DV / HDV format or avi/mp4.
  • All the members of the team will have to register.

Event Phases: This event will be held in two phases.

Phase I:

  • This competition is for making videos . Participants have to choose a theme, capture the clips based on it and make a coherent video. Themes can be chosen by the participants.
  • Your theme may raise any social issue like slums, waste management, may cover the natural beauty, can be on a tourist place, etc.
  • You have to mention the coverage area and time of the video capture in the video itself.
  • Video length should not exceed 15 minutes.

  • The entries must be in Hindi / English or both.
  • All films will only be eligible for Phase 2 after the selection committee’s approval or competition’s directorial decision.

Phase II:

  • The selected films shall be screened on the day of the event with prior notice to the participants. Out of all the entries, the best 6 would be selected for screening.

The violation of above rules can lead to rejection.
The organizers reserve the right to change/update the rules of the contest at any point of time and will do their best to inform the participants of the same.
However, it is ultimately the responsibility of the teams to keep themselves updated.
