INTRODUCTION

This is an age of technology and it seems that engineers can be, rather, should be among the leaders of this millennium. But for this to come about fully, it requires the training of the engineer with a balanced view of the importance of technical and non-technical skills hand in hand. This will be the confidence, which will stay from inherent strength, values, teamwork, dedication and vision.

Today we are geared up for the future to take new challenges, to explore new avenues and to realize new dreams. The people who get on this world are the people who get up and look for circumstances they want and if they can’t find them, they create them.

Chemical Engineering Students’ Association (ChESA) is one such organization that believes that the strongest people are not always the people who win but the people who don’t give up when they lose are the ones who make a difference. Thus, to reach that place where there is no looking back: Seminars, Lectures Series, Competitions, Social Activities, Workshops etc. have always been held to fill the differences between technical skills and life skills for the evolution of a “Complete Engineer”.

MISSION

To serve the state, nation and global community by providing budding Chemical Engineers up-to-date knowledge on Chemical Engineering and allied branches, to educate and prepare students for leadership roles, to define, develop new directions in Chemical Engineering fundamentals and practices and to stimulate collaborative efforts among industry, universities, government, and professional societies. Through regularly scheduled conferences, workshops, national symposiums, expert lectures, panel discussion etc on the Chemical Engineering and allied branches, ChESA serves as a platform for networking, information sharing, idea exchange and problem solving for the booming Chemical Engineers of India.

OBJECTIVES

Providing students of the college with an opportunity to interact with academicians and professionals, so as to benefit from their knowledge, by organizing various lectures series, workshops, panel discussion etc.

Making students aware about the latest developments in technology & engineering, and providing them with a hand on experience of the same through workshops, expert lectures and alumni meetings.

Providing students with a platform to present technical papers, projects, research work, so as to help them in national and international level competitions.

Organizing various technical and management based events which aid in the overall development of the students as engineers. They provide a platform for sharpening their skills in various spheres of life and also stimulate interest in the diverse spheres of life.

EVENTS ORGANISED BY ChESA

Jukebox: An intradepartmental competition organized to test the non-technical character of the budding engineers. It consisted of four different rounds. The event was a complete entertainment for everyone, the participants and the audience as well.

Pi-Engineers: The event was organized on Engineers Day (15th September) to test the basic concepts and fundamentals of students. It consisted of two rounds “Tech-Smith” & “Chef-‘n’-doure” based on the basic concepts of Science & Technology, to trigger the very core of engineering.

On the Spot Dialogue Making: An event organized to help all the blooming engineers improve their public speaking and interaction skills.

Enigma: The flagship event of ChESA, this quiz is a crowd puller in its own right. The quiz plays host to the Titans of quizzing all over the campus. It has been successfully organized since last many years at the campus with a great response from the students of various departments.

Back to Basics: Our future depends upon the basics and our present is going to be vastly better when we get back to these basics. The event consists of questions testing the fundamentals of physics, chemistry, mathematics etc.

Debate Competition: This event was conducted to test the extempore speaking skills of the students as well as their ability to address an audience fearlessly.

Spell-Chex: It is an Inter-Departmental Event which tests the vocabulary as well as the General usage ability of the students. This event comprised of the 3 different rounds.
